The Signal I See

We are giving AI access to more organizational information.

Documents.

Policies.

CRM records.

Meeting notes.

Customer history.

Process instructions.

But that's not necessarily how the work gets done.

01 / Signal

There Are Usually Two Versions of the Process

There's the process we documented.

And then there's the process people actually use.

  • Someone checks another system before approving the order.
  • Someone keeps a spreadsheet because the official report doesn't show an exception.
  • Someone calls the experienced employee who remembers why the rule exists.
  • Someone knows this particular customer is different.

None of that may appear on the process map.

But it's still part of the work.

Your process map says five steps.Your employees know there are twelve.

That's Organizational Intelligence

Organizational intelligence is the context, judgment, history, exceptions, relationships and unwritten knowledge that help people understand how work actually gets done.

It's why an experienced employee knows which order to slow down, which customer to call first, and which rule has a reason nobody wrote down.

It isn't simply giving AI more data.

Listen for These Signals

  • “Usually...”
  • “Except when...”
  • “I always check...”
  • “You have to ask...”
  • “The system doesn't show...”
  • “Technically we're supposed to...”

Those aren't annoying details.

They're signals.
